We competed in the Wye Island CHALLENGE: Electric Boat Marathon today, a grueling 24-mile course across open water and around the picturesque Wye Island. Conditions were the roughest we've seen in the 6 years we've competed. In part it was due to a stiff northerly breeze that built up a sizable chop. The chop impacted our boat more than in previous years since this was also the fastest we've run that course in rough conditions. After trading positions with the US Naval Academy's boat, we took a second place overall to their sleek and speedy vessel. Here are a few highlights from the day:
