About the Event
In honor of Earth Day, the Electric Boat Race Team will be hosting a race event in our home river. This event has the goal of making electric-based watercraft more available to the public eye, and make audiences aware of the importance of finding cleaner methods of travel.
This race is open to collegiate teams, including those who compete in the Promoting Electric Propulsion (PEP) competition, hosted by the American Society of Naval Engineers. Our course is unique, starting with a U-shaped 1/4 mile sprint right in front of our viewing area, then leading into a 5-lap course around marks set 1/2 mile apart. This allows competitors who are better suited for a short sprint race to be competitive separately from the boats designed for a longer endurance race.
This is a regional feeder race for competitors in the Promoting Electric Propulsion competition in June 2023, but is open to all collegiate teams willing to make the trip.
